Air conditioning · Repair

Air con repair that finds the real fault.

Warm air in cooling mode, water running down the wall, a unit that flashes an error code and gives up on the hottest day of the year. We trace the fault, explain it in plain language and fix it with the right parts.

What’s included

The work, done properly.

  • Full diagnostic: electrics, refrigerant circuit, airflow and drainage
  • Error code diagnosis on Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and other common makes
  • Refrigerant leak detection and repair before any re-gas
  • Fan motor, sensor and circuit board replacement
  • Blocked condensate drains and failed condensate pumps
  • Frozen coils and iced pipework

Signs you need this

  • It runs but blows warm or barely cool air
  • Water dripping from the indoor unit
  • Ice on the pipework in cooling mode
  • A flashing light or error code on the indoor unit
  • Rattling, buzzing or a fan that will not start
  • A musty smell when it starts up

Most faults come down to a few causes: a condensate drain blocked with dust and algae after a winter switched off, filters so clogged the coil ices up, a slow refrigerant leak at a flare joint, or a failed sensor or fan motor. Re-gassing without finding the leak only buys a few weeks, so we find the leak first.

Systems that sit idle from October to May tend to fail in the first hot week, when everyone switches on at once. A test run in spring finds most of these faults while there is still room in the diary.

All refrigerant work is carried out by F-Gas certified engineers, and old refrigerant is recovered properly, never vented.

Questions

Air conditioning repair, answered.

Do you re-gas air conditioning?

Yes, after we find and fix the leak. The system is sealed; if it is low on refrigerant, it has leaked somewhere. Re-gassing without a repair usually means paying twice.

Can you repair a system someone else installed?

Usually, yes. If parts are no longer made or the system uses an obsolete refrigerant, we will tell you honestly when replacement is the better value.

Why is water dripping from my indoor unit?

Almost always a blocked condensate drain or a failed condensate pump. Switch the unit off and call us; it is often a straightforward fix once we are there.
