Heating services

Diagnosis first

Low pressure, lockouts, cold radiators, kettling and rising bills get a proper read before anyone reaches for a part or a new boiler.

Repair and service

Annual servicing, safety checks and targeted repairs that keep a sound boiler going, and keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid.

Upgrades that fit

New boilers sized to your hot water use, and heat pumps designed around your rooms, radiators and electrics.

Systems we work on

Heat that holds through January.

  • Combi, system and regular gas boilers
  • Radiators, valves, TRVs and towel rails
  • Vented and unvented hot water cylinders
  • Wet underfloor heating and manifolds
  • Air source heat pumps and hybrid setups
  • Smart thermostats, zoning and controls

Ready before the first frost.

Autumn is the time to service the boiler, bleed and balance the radiators, and insulate the condensate pipe. You get a clear picture of what is working, what needs attention, and what can wait.

Questions

Heating, answered.

Can I top up the boiler pressure myself?

Usually, yes. Most sealed systems have a filling loop or a built-in filling key under the boiler, and the manual shows how to use it. If you are topping up more than once every few months, there is a leak or a failing part, and that needs an engineer.

Is it worth repairing an old boiler?

Often. If the heat exchanger is sound and parts are still made, a repair is usually the better value. If the heat exchanger is leaking, parts are obsolete or it breaks down every winter, we will tell you plainly that replacement makes more sense.

Combi, system or regular: which do I need?

Combis suit flats and smaller homes with one bathroom and good mains pressure. Homes with two or more bathrooms usually do better with a system boiler and a cylinder. Older houses with tanks in the loft sometimes keep a regular boiler to avoid stressing old pipework. We recommend after the survey, not before.

How long does a replacement take?

A like-for-like swap is often done in a day. Converting a regular system to a combi, moving the boiler or taking tanks out of the loft takes longer. The quote gives you a realistic timeline.

How long does a boiler service take?

Usually around an hour for a domestic boiler, longer if it needs a deeper clean or a part replaced.

Will a heat pump keep my house warm in winter?

A correctly designed system is sized for the coldest weather your area typically sees. It feels different, steady warmth rather than hot radiators, but the rooms should hold the temperature you set.
